Institute for Research on Global Health and Youth at Risk

Director: Michael Clatts

The Research on Global Health and Youth at Risk (YAR) Institute has the following goals:

  1. To apply a global health perspective in understanding the epidemiology of health disparities among youth living in the urban environment;
  2. To develop, test, and disseminate health services interventions to reduce poor health outcomes among youth populations, with a particular focus on sexually transmitted infections and HIV disease;
  3. To promote greater dialogue between government, community, and research constituencies concerned with public health and high risk youth populations.
